White Cast Index
"No white cast" is the most-broken promise in sunscreen marketing — and the deeper your skin tone, the more it costs you. This index reports what each SPF actually looks like on five tone bands. Current entries are pilot data compiled from published tone-by-tone reports; standardized photo submissions open at launch, and your reports will replace the pilot data. Brands can't pay in, and they can't opt out.
How the index works
Each verdict comes from real-skin reports under one protocol — even indoor lighting, a two-finger dose, verdict at 10 minutes — with the sample count (n) shown on every cell so you can weigh the confidence. This is an editorial index: brands can't pay to change a verdict, and they can't remove themselves.
