The main brightening active is 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, a stable vitamin C derivative at roughly 2%, rounded out with small amounts of several other vitamin C forms plus niacinamide, ferulic acid, and vitamin E for antioxidant support and more even tone. It has a light, watery-serum texture that sinks in without tackiness. Use a few drops in the morning and evening after cleansing and toner, before moisturizer, and follow with sunscreen during the day, since vitamin C works best alongside sun protection. The formula is fragrance-free and free of drying alcohol, in keeping with the brand's low-irritation approach, so it's generally gentler than a straight ascorbic-acid serum. It does contain niacinamide and a few botanical extracts, so patch test first if those tend to bother your skin.
