The active is 0.1% retinol, one of the best-studied ingredients for softening wrinkles and smoothing texture, supported here by hyaluronic acid, panthenol, vitamin E, and a stable vitamin C derivative to hydrate and buffer. The serum has a light emulsion texture that absorbs to a smooth, non-greasy finish. Use it at night only, starting a couple of times a week and building up as your skin adjusts, and always pair it with sunscreen the next morning, since retinol increases sun sensitivity. Expect some dryness or flaking early on, go easy on other strong actives while you adjust, and skip retinol entirely during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
