The active is 4% betaine salicylate, a milder BHA that loosens the oil-and-dead-cell mix inside pores, carried in a base of willow bark water — the plant source salicylates were originally derived from. Niacinamide helps fade the marks blemishes leave behind, while sodium hyaluronate and panthenol keep the formula from feeling stripping; there's no alcohol, fragrance, or essential oil. It's a lightly slippery liquid used after cleansing at the toner or essence step — wiped on with a cotton pad or patted in by hand, avoiding the eye and lip area — and left to absorb before the next layer. Start two or three times a week and build up only as your skin tolerates it. Don't stack it with other acids, retinoids, or strong vitamin C in the same session, and wear sunscreen daily while any exfoliating acid is in your routine.
