Heartleaf (houttuynia cordata) extract and quercetin calm the skin while amino-acid-based cleansing agents like sodium cocoyl glycinate and sodium lauroyl glutamate do the actual washing. Hyaluronic acid offsets the dryness cleansers can leave behind, and a small amount of salicylic-acid-derived exfoliant helps smooth texture around pores. It foams into a rich, soft lather and rinses clean without stripping. Use it morning and night as the water-based cleansing step: lather with water, massage over damp skin in circles, and rinse with lukewarm water — at night, go in with an oil cleanser first if you wear makeup or heavy sunscreen. It is formulated to be low-irritation and non-comedogenic, but patch testing is still sensible for reactive skin.
