The exfoliating work is done by lactic acid, an AHA that loosens dead cells on the skin's surface, plus salicylic acid and betaine salicylate, oil-soluble BHAs that clear out sebum and blackheads inside the pore. The formula balances the acids with soothing panthenol, allantoin, and centella asiatica, and hydrators like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, so it feels less stripping than many acid pads. Use after cleansing: swipe the embossed side from the center of the face outward, follow with the silky side, then lightly pat in the remaining essence and continue with your hydrating steps. A jar holds 70 pads; most people do better starting a few evenings a week rather than daily. Be careful if you're sensitive or avoid fragrance — the formula includes denatured alcohol and citrus, lavender, rosemary, and eucalyptus essential oils (a limonene source and known sensitizer for some skin). As with any exfoliating acid, skip layering other strong actives the same night and wear sunscreen daily.
