The exfoliating work comes from salicylic acid, an oil-soluble BHA that clears dead cells and sebum from inside pores, paired with gluconolactone, a gentle PHA, while a large dose of rice extract adds a mild polishing element and a rice-bran-water base does the hydrating. Niacinamide and arbutin round it out to help brighten and even tone over time, and several weights of hyaluronic acid keep skin from feeling stripped. The texture is a lightweight gel serum; apply it after cleansing at night, starting a few evenings a week, then follow with moisturizer. Because it exfoliates, daily sunscreen is essential while you use it, and you should avoid stacking it with other strong acids or retinoids the same night. It contains fragrance and a small amount of alcohol, so sensitive or reactive skin should patch test and build up slowly.
