The formula rebuilds the skin barrier with a blend of skin-identical lipids — a pseudo-ceramide (hydroxypropyl bispalmitamide MEA), cholesterol, phytosphingosine and fatty acids — supported by glycerin and squalane to soften skin and hold in moisture. That combination is meant to ease tightness and flaking and to strengthen skin that reacts easily. The lotion texture is lighter and more fluid than the cream, absorbing without greasiness, so it's easy to use daily and to layer. Smooth it on as your last skincare step morning and night, over serums or essences; on very dry days you can follow with the richer cream at night. It's fragrance-free, alcohol-free and essential-oil-free, in keeping with its focus on sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
